Womenfolk Taken Aback
When shifting the permanent way
It's always the worker who'll pay
It's always his loss
And, meanwhile, the boss
Can play the whole field and make hay
When marching to protest the war
It's always the rebel and whore
Who make the front pages
Despite the outrages
Of editors hoping for more
When swiping a card through the slot
It's always the worst time to trot
For galloping fear
Will show from the rear
Though streaks that are winning will not
When rhyming at quarter to ten
It's ticklish to use a quill pen
For ink tends to smear
And spoil the veneer
And you have to start over again
