Rock Husks
Vowels with a vengeance invigorate vows
while consonants constitute curses
This little red book that I'm holding is Mao's
I got it while out snatching purses.
A wallet's straightforward, a handbag no sweat
and writing a poem's just a matter of verses
Some syllable counts may give cause for regret
some scansion give cause for alarm,
And looking back at the rhyme scheme wouldn't do any harm.
