The Submarine Horizons
A biscuit and a cup of tea
And life is at its apogee
But coffee and a piece of cake
One might as well be at a wake
A pint of ale and a pork pie
Hit me swiftly in the eye
But lager and a pickled egg
Adhere forever to the leg
A staek and kidney pie and chips
The taste of nectar on one's lips
A strawberry tart and clotted cream
More ghastly than the grimmest dream
Brown bread and butter, potted shrimps
Nirvana, in a single glimpse!
Oatcakes spread with caviar
Outweigh gruel's merits, yes, by far
