Fleeing, The Sticky Eremite Scratches
Poetry and Poesy declined to fight a duel,
Neither being furnished with a cutlass
But History and Rectitude 'went at it' tooth and nail,
A battle of the Good agin the Gutless
As witnessed, then, by Sophistry, with Rhetoric at hand,
A victory of Boring over Bland
The Muses fair have had their day and gone, at last, for tea
Dancing on the breeze behind the fountain
Their golden tresses waiving hither come, only for thee.
The Norns, meanwhile, stay hidden in their mountain
But what of Dicky Wagner - with his "Tragic SenseOf Life"?
That fuzzy little cretin with no life?
