Mother-in-law with Oregano
My mother-in-law, my mother-in law
I've chopped her up and made some slaw
But where to find some mayonnaise?
I've heard they sell it down at Ray's
I'll go there soon, but first I'll plot
To fill the Colonel's coleslaw pot
With shredded carrots--pepper, too
And possibly a noxious brew
Of Mom, amid her herbs and spices
Paper-thin fleshy slices
Tasting rather bitter, though
(Pass me Mom's oregano)
My brother-in-law, my brother-in-law
Ate all of his gruel then went back for more
The upshot was, he spends his days
Drinking quarts of vin de pays
I'll join his quaffing, once I've got
A big cornish pasty (served cold or hot)
Made with lamb, turnips -- spuds as well
Use lamb in a pasty you'll sure go to hell!
Just leave us to our own devices
And serve your in-laws with tasty spices
Then watch the "tastes like chicken" show
And step aside when chunks do blow
